What is Two-Shots Molding or 2K Molding?

Two-shot molding, also known as 2K molding, is a specialized injection molding process that allows two different plastic materials or colors to be molded together in a single production cycle. In two shot molding, the first injection typically involves hard plastic materials such as ABS, PE, PP, PS, while the second injection involves soft materials like TPE, TPR, PVC.

This technique can also incorporate transparent plastic materials for the first molding and non-transparent materials for the second. Additionally, two-shot molding is useful when combining high-temperature plastics for the first molding with low-temperature materials.
